Finally, it has warmed up enough to go outside without a jacket. We got our steps in early and did a lot of bike riding. These old knees aren't use to much exercise so burn baby burn! We saw a skinny Florida excuse for a deer on the nature trail.

Watercolor!
Watercolor is a very quaint little town about 10 miles from this park. It is a beautiful, new looking, community with very odd shops and restaurants.
We stopped by Pickles and had key lime pie dipped in chocolate and on a stick. It was good but too rich. One would have been plenty for both of us.
We came back to the campground and got our 10,000 steps in and i got in some good skype time with my favorite granddaughter
Then we decided to eat out and went to a local place called Louie Louies. I had crabcakes and Hiawatha ordered gumbo and seafood pasta! It was very good and very expensive. They carried this chalk board to your table with the menu on it which was good because it was so dark in there we couldnt have read a menu if the had one!
Until tomorrow.....

Colder Before it gets Warmer
It was so cold this morning that Hiawatha wore socks on his hands for the morning walk!
The wind was really whipping around so we had to put in our awning. We took a few bike rides, but it was so cold. I didn't get down here with my rear view morror on my bike, but a trip to the walmart took care of that.
We decided to just eat in again tonight. We usually just like to eat out once a week. So the menu was baked pork chop, baked potatoes, fried green tomatoes and corn muffins
We were hard pressed to get in our ten thousand steps today before dark....but we did! Unfortunately our fitbits do not register bike riding or walking thru walmart while pushing a cart!
Hiawatha is happy that his cats play tonight and he shouldn't have any trouble staying awake for the game on central time!

Gotta Love the Emerald Coast
Even though it is cold; you gotta get in your beach time.
We are really getting in our walking since we have been here. When we were home a really good day for us was to get to 5000 steps. I had over that by noon today and we are close to getting 20,000 steps a day.
Unfortunately the Mucinex cough medicine was an epic fail; Hiawatha is still coughing all the time.

Still on the chilly side
It is still just in the 50's here today, but at least it isn't raining. We went up and walked the Harbor Walk. We love looking at all the boats. Destin is such a nice town. We stopped at Bass Pro to spend a gift card that Hiawatha got for his retirement. If you like to shop, this is the place!
The Airstreams are really starting to roll into the park!
And what do hillbillies do with their laundry when camping ...well you wash your clothes in the shower and carry a dryer in the back of your truck

Topsail Hill State Park
We arrived in Santa Rosa Beach at 10:00 am. Lucky for us the people had already vacated our site so they let us check in early. This is a state park that used to be a resort so it is full hookups with cable tv and a weak wifi.
It is also VERY cold here. It was 46 degrees when we got here and i don't think it will get much warmer!
Such a cold day called for a big pot of ham potato soup. It was so good.
We have been out meeting some other airstreamers! They are so nice. Right now there are only 5 airstreams here; the Canopener 2016 actually starts this Thursday and there will be well over 100 airstreams here.
And, of course I have made a trip to the Walmart, which is less than a mile away :) I got Hiawatha a bottle of Mucinex Extreme for cough...I sure hope it helps!

Welcome to sunny Florida😎
Well, it is almost 4:00pm and we are still on the road! I could lie and tell you the weather is so lousy we decided to just roll on today; truth is everyplace we called for a reservation was booked. Finally found one in Bonifey, fl and we are still 50 miles away!
Woohoo, we are stopped for the night at Florida Springs RV resort in Bonifey, FL. The chef in their restaurant was off today...good thing though, because when I looked in the cabinet I saw my black-eyed peas! Don't forget to eat your black-eyed peas or you won't have any money this year!
I made ours into black-eyed peas cakes! They were really good!
