Downtown Savannah

We went to Historic Savannah this morning.  We opted for the trolley tour since Hiawatha coughed about all night and wasn't feeling too good.  We like the trolley tours because the trolley driver always knows a lot of local lore that you don't get just walking around.

The temperature was in the 80's so there were lots of people down along the river.  They bring some huge ships into this harbor.
We toured the Sorrell-Weed home.  This is supposed to be the most haunted room in Savannah.  They guide said that they regularly have to help people out of this room because they get all weirded out.  Other than a little musty smelling; I didn't notice anything.  At one point in our tour of the house a door to a room across the hall from the room we were touring slammed shut pretty hard and made everyone jump.  This house is on the "haunted Savannah" tour.
The lady of the house jumped to her death from the 3rd floor balcony after she found her husband in a compromising situation with the nanny.  Supposedly this event socially destroyed the Sorrell family

We ate fish and chips at Spunky's on the river.  It was pretty good.  Hiawatha didn't finish his plate; so that tells you he isn't feeling too good.

Tomorrow we are touring Fort Jackson...stay tuned!
