Great Salt Lake - Not So Great

We arrived in Utah before noon.

We got all set up at Pony Express RVResort  and since it was 100 degrees, we headed to the pool.

After a swim we drove to the Salt Lake City  State Park marina. What a disappointment. It was so trashy and run down. The lake is so salty that no fish can live in it. Only brine shrimp and brine flies.  The lake smells. I am so glad that we didnt stay in their campground. There were millions of flies. It was horrible.

There is a copper smelting plant across the road from the state park.

There is a tiny house in this campground!

Congrats to our Clay Co girls senior league softball team on their win today in the first game of the world series!

Sweet dreams from Salt Lake City!

Pocatello and the Clean Museum

What a strange and entertaining museum. The founder of this museum is Don Aslett. He has written lots of books on cleaning and decluttering. This museum was so much fun.

Yellowstone

We spent two full days and drove over 400 miles seeing as much of Yellowstone and Grand Teton as we could see in 2 full days. There is no way to see everything in the park in two days, but we gave it a good try. It is an amazing place.

We stayed at Henry's Lake State Park outdide of the West Yellowstone entrance

If I ever go back i will go in September. The crowds were unreal and people are amazingly stupid. They will get within 10 feet of wild animals.

Sweet dreams from Yellowstone!

Craters of the Moon

I'm This is an awesome national park. The scenery is hard to describe and pictures just don't show how weird, strange and beautiful it is.

It was quite a hike up this cinder mound!

And them there were lava tunnels to explore. They were pretty treacherous because the floors of the tunnels were not flat and had lots of grooves that were hard on the feet and ankles

It was a great park. Glad that we got to see it.

We are staing st Craters of the Moon KOA in Arco, Id

Sweet dreams from the moon!

Goodbye Oregon, Hello Idaho

Hello Idaho!  I expected to see lots of potato fields in Idaho...,wrong

We did get to see the Snake  River

We drove past Boise to a small town called Mountain Home and found a gem of a campground so we stayed two days. We have a few days before we can check into our Yellowstone campground so we arent in any hurry and a few days in their saltwater pool was very nice since the temperature is over 100!

Sweet dreams from Mountain Home, Idaho!

Hello Washington and Oregon

Oregon looked exactly like I thought it would when we first got into the state.  Lots of hills with giant evergreen trees but as soon as we got away from the coast the landscape changed dramatically.

It looked like a desert. We decided to stay several days at Wildhorse Rv park. It was a nice full hookup park that allowed us to wash the camper and truck on site.   We cleaned the camper totally inside and out. It was unbelievable how much dirt we had acquired. Every screen. Vent, drawer, storage compartment and closet had to be cleaned. They had a nice laundry so everything, including curtains, got washed.  It felt so good to be all clean again.

I guess that I didn't mention that this campground was at a casino. Cha-ching;  I paid for our 3 days food and lodging and the fuel to get there.

Cha-ching in my dreams from Wildhorse!!
