Glaciers and more Glaciers

We boarded the ship at 9:30 for the 7 1/2 hr cruise. The weather was perfect. We got great seats on the top windy deck.

Very soon after leaving the harbor we  saw huge hump back whales. Then we came upon some orcas.
They were so pretty.

We came to the first glacier. I was so neat to see the blue colors

But even neater than the color was hearing the thunderous roar and watching it calve.

We also saw sea lions, dolphins and puffins but those pics are on my other camera.

It was well worth the price and time that the tour cost. They also had a buffet with prime rib and salmon.

Today we hiked to the Exit Glacier.  It was an easy hike but wear hiking shoes and take a walking stick. It was also very windy when you get to the glacier.

Hiawatha and Carvel talking it over

We were disappointed that we didnt get to touch the glacier, so we hiked over to the glacier runoff area and I just had to put my toes in the glacier water.   It was soooo cold.

Carvel and Tammy ate some of the glacier ice

A cruise ship came into port

Seward is a small town but it really swells with tourist. They are so jammed into this park, I am not so sure we can get out!

And for my daughter who gets creeped out by birds, this looked like a scene from birds

Sweet dreams from crowded Seward.
