Moose here, moose there, moose everywhere

First, for our camping friends, if you plan on staying in the park here, Riley cg is by far the most convenient to everything. If you stay at Savage river you have to contend with the tour bus traffic and are over 10 miles from the visitor center area. So stay at Riley. And the most important thing is...no matter how small your rv is reserve an "A" site. We are under 30 ft so I reserved a "B" site. We were lucky to find a "B" site that our 25 foot camper would fit, but most B's are fine for a tent or truck camper, maybe a B class.

We hiked the horseshoe trail yesterday. It was a moderate trail so we took our time and was rewarded with getting to see a huge moose swimming in a lake and an awesome beaver dam.

I took a pic of the beaver's teeth marks on a tree

The trail led down to the Chulitna River. It was cold and beautiful. Some rafters came by while we were there

Also, for my camping friends; be very careful with your dogs in the campground. The sow moose hate dogs and our neighbors dog was chased around a camper and thankfully rescued by other campers in a motorhome!
