An Alarming Awakening!

At a few minutes after 4:00 a.m. the tornado siren on my phone started screaming.."a tornado is in your area.  Take cover now!  So up I jump and turn on the tv and sure enough we are under a tornado warning.  So we put on our shoes, socks and rain gear.  I, of course, grabbed my phone and purse (my mother would be proud) and checked the storm tracker again before heading out to the bath house...fortunately, it looked to be moving out, so we decided to wait it out in the camper.  Probably not the wisest move and not one that we will do again.  We didn't have any damage and except for a few screen rooms destroyed; the campground came thru the storm just fine.

We went to Church in the campground pavilion.  There was well over 200 people there.  The preacher is from one of the local Baptist churches.  The pavilion is also where Bingo is held.  All thru Church I couldn't help but wonder how a Baptist preacher could stand in a pulpit under a huge BINGO sign :)  He also said that the Methodist and Presbyterians were not washed in the blood by being dunked under the water; but there were dry cleaned!

After Church we walked to the river and watched the alligator, whose name is Stripe.  Not much to see so we decided to go to Cracker Barrel and eat with some of the gift cards that Hiawatha got for his retirement; it was too crowded so we came back to the rv and fixed grits and fried eggs.

We drove down to Punta Gorda to look at bike racks.  It is a pretty area.  On the way back we stopped at Cracker Barrel...still crowded, but not as bad.

Back at the Camper, all tucked in and watching Aida on PBS!
